Q: WHAT DO YOU LOVE MOST ABOUT READING?

A: Many children and youth today lack knowledge of their own stories, origins, and connections to their families. Our stories are integral to our identities, histories, and understanding of the world. It’s heartening to see children find themselves reflected in stories through reading. That’s why I prioritize diverse and inclusive books, such as those offered by A Book A Day, to ensure all children see themselves represented. To me, a book is more than just words on a page—it’s a tool for empowerment, discovery, and exploration, shaping young minds and fostering a sense of belonging and possibility.

Q: HOW CAN MOVEMENT ENHANCE A CHILD’S READING EXPERIENCE?

Q: WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO MOST ABOUT THE FUNDRAISER?

A: As a passionate supporter of A Book a Day’s wonderful mission and vision, I am eagerly anticipating the upcoming fundraiser this October. The event presents a unique opportunity to further the organization’s impactful work and bring its mission to life in a meaningful way. One aspect that I am particularly excited about is the opportunity to facilitate conversations as a part of the community dialogue. Being able to be around like-minded individuals who are also passionate in promoting creative learning throughout all communities is something so special and important. I am very grateful to be given the chance to emcee this event. I look forward to listening to the poetry reading as well as enjoying unique items offered at the silent auction.
