2025 Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award Nomination

What do A Book a Day, Gene Luen Yang, Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, and Elisabeth Acevedo have in common? We were all nominated for the 2025 Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award!

Created by the Swedish government in 2002 to honor the legacy of author, editor, and activist Astrid Lingren, this award shines a light on the importance of reading and promotes the right of every child to have access to great stories.

We are honored to be in such great company, with 265 authors, illustrators, storytellers, activists, and literacy organizations representing 72 different countries! We will find out in April if ABaD is the winner of this prestigious award. In the meantime, we remain focused on our work here in Philadelphia. Tusen tack (a thousand thanks!) to the nominating committee!

A Book a Day is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
